Leather Sandwich case

A leather sandwich case which was used by a resident of Long Clawson near Melton Mowbray. The case provided a means of carrying modest refreshment for a days hunting.  The leather case could be buckled to the rider’s saddle and often had a metal lining (sometimes silver).  A flask (a glass bottle with leather carrying case) would also provide a drink.
